The Mannerheim League for Child Welfare "Friends Day"
Rääkkylä, Finland 15.2.03
On the 15th of Febuary 2003, "Friends Day", there was a happening in Rääkkylä which incorporated 547 candles (10 cm x 13 cm diameter), 291 ice moulds and a childrens workshop. Using the ice moulds we formed the symbol of Rääkkylä (28 x 13 m). Each candle represented each child and youth of Rääkkylä from 0-18 yrs. The candle light represented the life and spirit of these children and was a symbol of the life and future of Rääkkylä.
